Sam Hitchcock became the first director of Park Place Teen Center in May 0f the year 2000. Sam retired from the New Philadelphia Police Department at the rank of Detective Captain and immediately assumed the position of Director of this brand new youth facility. Sam enjoyed raising his own children and was excited to take on the challemge of managing this brand new center in Tuscora Park. Sam is a father to three biological children, one step-daughter, and two foster children that came about as a result of his connection with the teen center. Sam has always enjoyed parenthood and considers his position at Park Place as an opportunity to offer parental support to children on a much larger basis.

Melanie had been a teen worker of RTY Concessions at the park but had always expressed an interest in being involved with teen center operations. As a young adult, she was hired as a supervisor and was a perfect fit for Park Place. She is now married and living in Dennison with her husband raising a beautiful little girl who at some point in future time will probably become yet another of our "Park Place Kids". Melanie works at Trinity Hospital in Dennison, and presently fills in at Park Place when needed.
As a very popular local radio personality, Steve Kelly was largly responsible for entertaining and building huge crowds at the center during the early days as Park Place's favorite DJ. Steve's radio profession took him away from Park Place for many years, but we are happy to say Steve has returned as a staff member, and most important of all, our staff DJ where his talents are most appreciated.
Hi, I'm Lauren. I moved to the area a few years ago to be married. My kids are grown, but I have a teenage step-daughter. I love kids and as a way to nurture my relationship with my step-daughter, I jumped at the chance to work at Park Place. Hopefully, as a mother, I'll have a positive impact on the kids.
Megan Luff came to the teen center as a 6th grade student, and spent a great deal of her time here socializing with her friends. Megan fell in love with Park Place and Park Place fell in love with her. As she progressed through her school years, she was eventually hired as a teen worker when she turned 16, both at the center and selling program booklets for the Summer Showcase concerts in the park. Megan has now aged out of membership and, at the age of 19, has been promoted to an adult supervisor at the center. This pleasant young lady has become a very important and hard working member of the Park Place Staff.
Travis came to Park Place in 2009 from a middle school field trip and hasn't left since! Travis takes care of all of the A/V from the lighting, tvs, sound and even the wifi! (what would a Teen Center be without wifi?) He also serves as a backup Djs on Fridays nights when Steve Kelly is unavailable. Everything Travis does for the Teen Center is volunteer. Travis is highly respected by both the kids as well as other staff members and has become the "go-to guy" when something isn't working the way it should. Travis' full time job is at Marlite as chief electrician. He is project manager at Hitchcock Sound Company and newly appointed co-producer of the Summer Showcase concert series in the park, as well as a volunteer committee member of First Town Days Festival. His ever-increasing knowledge of electronic technology and his love of community involvement has made him extremely valuable to all areas of Tuscora Park operations.
